Singapore’s New Hui Fen climbed from the No. 5 seed to win the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open title after four straight stepladder victories at Sun Valley Lanes. She averaged 256.5 across the stepladder finals, ending with a dominant 290 game to defeat top seed Jordan Snodgrass.
New posted a total of 1,026 pins over the four televised matches — the highest stepladder score recorded since the PWBA Tour was relaunched in 2015. The win secured her second career major, fifth PWBA title overall, and the $60,000 top prize, along with the iconic green jacket and eagle trophy. Her path to the title was nothing short of dominant. New opened with a 246–189 win over Maryssa Carey, followed by a 228–183 victory against Crystal Elliott. Then, in the semifinal, she surged past Lauren Russo with a 262–174 win. New HuiFen capped it all off with a near-perfect 290 in the championship match against Jordan Snodgrass. 2025 U.S. Women’s Open title marks New Hui Fen's third title of the season, following back-to-back wins at the 2025 BowlTV Open and the PWBA Rock 'n' Roll Open.
With this performance, New moves into the lead for the PWBA Player of the Year race, although she will miss the next tour stop due to international duties with Team Singapore.
