New Hui Fen of Singapore earned her third PWBA Tour title on Saturday by winning the 2025 PWBA BowlTV Open at Yorktown Lanes in Parma Heights, Ohio.

New defeated teammate Cherie Tan in the title match, 233–206, to claim the $10,000 top prize.

The two Singaporean players previously met in the finals of the 2024 BowlTV Classic, where Tan took the win. This year, the result flipped in favor of New.

The final match between New and Tan began evenly, with both players striking three times in the first four frames. A split in the fifth left New trailing, but Tan was unable to build a lead after back-to-back 7-pin leaves. New responded by striking five times in a row to secure the win before the final frame.

Tan finished with 206, earning $5,000 as the runner-up. The victory followed a strong run through match play, where New posted a 9–3 record across two blocks and averaged over 233 to qualify as the No. 2 seed for the stepladder finals.

In the semifinal, New faced Shannon Pluhowsky of Dayton, Ohio. After an early open frame, New responded with five strikes in the second half of the match to finish with 224. Pluhowsky stayed close with a late string of strikes but came up short with 217, earning $4,000 for third place.

The stepladder finals began with Pluhowsky defeating Jordan Snodgrass of Adrian, Michigan, 225–213. In the next match, Pluhowsky overcame Kelly Kulick of Union, New Jersey, 211–171. Kulick made her second consecutive stepladder finals appearance of the week, previously ending fifth in 2025 PWBA Cleveland Open.

New now shifts focus to the third and final stop of the PWBA Summer Series, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Open, which begins Sunday.

All events in the Summer Series are streamed live on BowlTV.
