Sweden’s Robin Ilhammar continued his incredible summer run by winning the 10th Brunswick Madrid Challenge, held July 5–13, 2025, in Madrid, Spain. Ilhammar defeated Czech Republic’s Lukáš Jelínek 245–222 in the final match to secure the title, adding to his recent victories at the IBF World Cup and the European Men’s Championships Masters event. At the end of May, Ilhammar also won the Kegel Aalborg International Open in Denmark.
Ilhammar had a steady climb throughout the tournament. He placed 11th in qualification and advanced to Final Step 2, where he posted 964 over four games to finish third.
In Final Step 3, he opened with 278 and 245 to grab early momentum. Despite a 184 in Game 3, he stayed above the cut and qualified in fifth place for Step 4.
There, Ilhammar delivered four consistent and high-scoring games - 258, 252, 256, and 237 - to claim the top seed for the stepladder finals.
Earlier in the semifinal, Lukáš Jelínek edged out Spain’s Michael Piccari 214–211 before facing Ilhammar in the championship match.
Endrina Bracuto of Venezuela won the women's competition. She successfully advanced through two final steps and finished 10th overall in the general standings.
