Cherie Tan of Singapore secured her fifth career Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) title at the BowlTV Classic. Tan triumphed over her compatriot New Hui Fen in the final match with a score of 269-206.
This victory marks her second BowlTV Classic title, having previously won in 2022.
Throughout the PWBA Classic Series – Nashville, Tan demonstrated consistent excellence, earning the number one seed for the second consecutive event.
The stepladder finals began with Bryanna Coté defeating Verity Crawley 229-147. Coté then continued her success by beating local favorite Josie Barnes 221-173 to reach the semifinal. However, she was unable to keep up with New, losing 255-181, finishing in third place and earning $4,000. Crawley and Barnes finished in fifth and fourth place, earning $2,000 and $2,500 respectively. New earned $5,000 for her runner-up finish.
Tan's victory in the Greater Nashville Classic sets the stage for the upcoming Music City Classic, where she continues to lead after combining her qualifying totals from both the Greater Nashville Classic and the BowlTV Classic. The event begins on Sunday with round-robin match play, culminating in the stepladder finals on Monday. All rounds will be streamed live on BowlTV.
