European Bowlers Make Strong Push at PWBA Pepsi Open

Ukraine’s Dasha Kovalova, Finland’s Peppi Konsteri, and Latvia’s Diana Zavjalova have all made their mark at the Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Pepsi Open, earning their places in the match play stage at Thunderbowl Lanes in Detroit.


Kovalova finished strong in the qualifying rounds with a total of 2,778 pins, securing third place overall. Konsteri followed closely, landing in sixth place with 2,640 pins, while Zavjalova clinched the tenth spot with 2,577 pins.


Leading the field was Stephanie Zavala of Long Beach, California, who surged to the top with a total of 2,837. Following Zavala was Michigan’s Jordan Richard with 2,788 pins, ten pins ahead of Kovalova.


The match play stage will feature the top 12 competitors from the qualifying rounds. The competition begins now with the first of two six-game blocks. The top five players will advance to the stepladder finals later in the day.
