Dasha Kovalova Advances to Stepladder Finals in PWBA Southern Indiana Open

The PWBA Southern Indiana Open is gearing up for an exciting conclusion as the top five bowlers advance to the stepladder finals. The finalists, determined after four intense six-game qualification blocks, are:


  1. Lauren Russo (No. 1 seed)

  2. Jordan Richard (No. 2 seed)

  3. Shannon Pluhowsky (No. 3 seed)

  4. Erin McCarthy (No. 4 seed)

  5. Dasha Kovalova (No. 5 seed)


Dasha Kovalova maintained her position in the top five throughout all the qualification rounds. The Ukrainian scored a total pinfall of 5600 (an average of 233.33) over 24 qualification games, including a perfect game in the second qualifying round.


Kovalova will meet the No. 4 seed Erin McCarthy in the first match of the PWBA Southern Indiana Open stepladder finals.


The PWBA Southern Indiana Open featured an 85-player field, which was cut down after the first two qualification blocks (12 games). The remaining 28 players bowled an additional 6 games to determine the 12 advancers to the fourth qualification round, after which the top 5 were determined.
