On November 13th, when the election results were announced, Secretary General of the European Bowling Federation (EBF), Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar became Slovenia's first female president.
In the second round of the presidential election, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, supported by the center-left government, defeated the former foreign minister, Anže Logar, a veteran of conservative politics.
Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar has served as Secretary General of the EBF and as head of the Gender Equality Committee of the EBF.
The newly elected president of Slovenia was an archer and a handballer, later - a successful bowling player. In 1997 she became a lawyer, worked on various TV channels as a journalist, authored or co-authored books on freedom of information and privacy.
After the presidential election, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar had to resign from the Secretary General position of EBF.
