Bill O'Neill Triumphs in PBA Players Championship for Third Major Title

Bill O'Neill won Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Players Championship presented by Snickers and the season-opening major title at Northrock Lanes in Wichita.


Bill O'Neill defeated Tom Smallwood in a thrilling final 211-178 to secure his third PBA career major title.


This victory marked Bill O'Neill's first PBA title since 2020.


Bill O'Neill secured his place in five-player stepladder finals as the No. 2 seed, averaging over 237 across 48 games of the qualification.


On his road to the final, Bill O'Neill defeated Ryan Barnes 215-205, who made his first career PBA championship round appearance, clinching No. 4 seed.


A senior and part of the Wichita State defending national championship-winning collegiate team, made a stellar performance, defeating Chris Via 267-223 in match 1 and Nate Stubler 224-220 in match 2.
