On Monday at the Fiesta Bowling Center in Incheon, Korea, two Boys' Team qualification squads took place for the 2024 World Youth Championships.
Sixteen top teams advanced to the match-play round after ten qualification games in the Baker format.
Team Australia - Seth Gray, Blake Walsh, Justin Dinham, and Jackson Buckingham - scored 2257 (225.7 avg.), outpacing their competitors and finishing in the top position. Korea, whose girls dominated the Girls' Team event, finished second with a score of 2236 (223.6 avg.), followed closely by Poland with 2229 (222.9 avg.). Germany, with a total of 2212, and Finland, with 2201, rounded out the top five.
Alongside Teams Poland, Germany, and Finland, four more teams from Europe advanced to the match-play round. The Netherlands finished in eighth place with a total of 2151, Slovakia took ninth with 2145, Norway ended in eleventh with 2130, while the Czech Republic finished in twelfth with 2126.
In the match-play rounds, the qualifiers will be divided into two groups of eight. They will engage in seven round-robin matches, with each win earning 3 points and a draw earning 1 point. The top two pairs from each group will advance to the semi-finals based on their accumulated points.
Teams match-play will kick off tomorrow at 9 AM local.
