40 countries will participate in the 2025 IBF Youth World Cup, presented by QubicaAMF, which will take place at Olympia Bowling in Helsingborg, Sweden from June 17 to 21, 2025.
That’s 15 more countries than in the 2024 edition of the Youth World Cup, which was held in Lima, Peru. The countries registered for the 2025 IBF Youth World Cup are Australia, Belgium, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong (China), Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Kuwait, Latvia, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Singapore, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Ukraine, USA, and Wales.
The IBF Youth World Cup returns to Helsingborg just three years after the city hosted the U21 World Championship in 2022. Once again, Olympia Bowling will be the stage for one of the most prestigious youth bowling tournaments in the world. The venue brings not only world-class facilities but also a strong track record in hosting international events, including the Storm Lucky Larsen Masters—the only PBA Tour stop outside the United States.
Local clubs Spader Dam and IS Göta will work alongside Olympia Bowling in organizing the event, aiming to deliver a smooth and memorable experience for both athletes and spectators.
Olympia Bowling and the Helsingborg Convention & Event Bureau have collaborated closely to secure the return of this major tournament to the Swedish Riviera. Patrick Backe, manager of Olympia Bowling, emphasized the importance of this partnership in bringing international attention to both the sport and the city.
"Two things that I am very passionate about are bowling and the city of Helsingborg," Patrick Backe said, "I moved to here in 1996. At that time I bowled myself as a professional, and in 2001 I got the opportunity to become the owner of Olympia Bowling. After finishing my professional bowling career, I feel honored and happy to be able to give back to the sport of bowling. And to be able to do it together with the city of Helsingborg is just a perfect match. The collaboration with Helsingborg and especially the Convention & Event Bureau has been of great importance - without them the last years’ tournaments and championships would not have been possible. We look forward to welcoming bowlers and fans from all over the world to our beautiful city of Helsingborg."
Helena Sundqvist, President of the Swedish Bowling Federation, expressed her enthusiasm for another international tournament on Swedish soil. "This is a fantastic chance for spectators to witness world-class bowling. We hope many will join us in Helsingborg to cheer on the competitors," she noted.
Helsingborg Convention & Event Bureau and Olympia Bowling have collaborated closely on this event, with Patrick Backe, manager of Olympia Bowling, grateful for the city’s ongoing support, which is expected to attract a significant number of visitors.
IBF President Michael Seymour commented on Helsingborg’s strong tradition in bowling, stating, “The success of the 2022 U21 Championship made Helsingborg an ideal location for the Youth World Cup. This event will further strengthen Swedish bowling and inspire young players globally.”
Alongside the announcement of participating countries, organizers also revealed the official oil pattern that athletes will face during the competition. The pattern is expected to challenge even the most skilled young bowlers, setting the stage for thrilling performances.
