Verity Crawley of England has surged ahead after the first round of match play at the Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) U.S. Women's Open bowling event in Indianapolis. The tournament, which began with 108 bowlers, now features 24 contenders, with Crawley now as the frontrunner.
Crawley currently holds a 49-pin lead over Latvia's Diana Zavjalova, who set tournament's new eight-game qualifying record last week, securing the top seed position heading into today's next final two rounds of match play.
