Three Englishmen successfully made the first cut at the 2024 U.S. Open held at Royal Pin Woodland in Indianapolis.
108 players field was cut to 36 after the first 24 games of Qualification. Fortunately for European bowling spectators, Stuart Williams, Richard Teece, and Dominic Barrett, the only European bowling player in this year's U.S. Open, who has experienced the sweet taste of victory in this tournament in 2018, are among them.
Dom Barrett secured a 19th-place finish with an average score of 204.29. Richard Teece clinched the 23rd position with an impressive average of 203.75, while Stuart Williams concluded the first round in 26th place with an average score of 203.46.
Anthony Simonsen topped the leaderboard after 24 qualification games with an average score of 217.38.
The fourth round, featuring the 36 advancing players, will commence at 4 PM CET today. Following this eight-game round, the top 24 players will progress to match play.
The total prize fund for the U.S. Open 2024 is $297,250.
