On Friday, four qualification squads of the Storm Lucky Larsen Masters 2024 took place at Olympia Bowling in Helsingborg, Sweden.
In Squad 20, Ludwig Ingerskog made a powerful start with a perfect game in the first round, ultimately securing victory with an impressive final score of 1494. This outstanding performance catapulted him to second place overall in the qualifying rounds.
During Squad 21, the crowd erupted in cheers as if for a hometown favorite when Andrew Anderson, a member of Helsingborg's IS GÖTA Bowling Team, scored 1424 for a win, placing himself 16th overall in the Storm Lucky Larsen Masters qualifying rounds.
Squad 22 was anyone's to grab, but it was Finland's Tomas Käyhkö who finished strongest and took the win with a score of 1403, securing 26th place in the current overall standings.
In Squad 23, World Youth Champion Paul Purps rolled a perfect game, achieving the tournament's seventh 300. He narrowly won the squad with a single-pin victory over Carl Eklund, the same competitor he defeated in the World Youth Championships Men's Singles final in July, finishing with a score of 1406. Purps is now in 24th place.

As it stands, the top 5 includes Sweden’s Viktor Albihn leading with 1525 points, followed by fellow Swede Ludwig Ingerskog with 1494 in second place. France’s Gregory Rius holds third with a total of 1479, Sweden’s Emil Svensson is in fourth with 1475, and England’s Dominic Barrett rounds out the top five with 1468.
Storm Lucky Larsen Masters is the sole Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour event outside the U.S. Participants has a chance to win not only a signature Kosta Boda crystal trophy, but a PBA Tour title as well.
Over 300-player field, including dozens of bowling idols from the PBA Tour such as EJ Tackett, Kyle Troup, or Anthony Simonsen, will fill the Olympia Bowling venue from August 23rd to September 1st.
