Joonas Jähi Wins Storm 3rd No Urethane Open in Finland

The Storm 3rd No Urethane Open concluded this weekend at Lahti Bowl Center in Finland. After almost two weeks of qualification and three final steps, Finland's Joonas Jähi emerged as the tournament champion.

The round robin finals featured the top eight players from earlier final steps. Jähi led the field with a scratch total of 3019 pins and earned additional bonus points from four match wins, finishing with a combined total of 3139. Eliisa Hiltunen finished second with 3090 total, while Niko Oksanen placed third with 3000. Jähi received the top prize of 8,000 euros for his victory, while Hiltunen earned 6,000 euros for second place, and Oksanen collected 4,000 euros for finishing third.

Hiltunen’s runner-up finish continues a strong showing by women at the Storm No Urethane Open. Last year, Peppi Konsteri won the 2nd Storm No Urethane Open title, becoming the first woman to claim the championship. This year, Hiltunen again showed that the competition at the top includes both men and women.

In addition to the tournament itself, the week also included three specialized seminars led by four-time USBC Open Championships winner and Storm's International Technical Director Matt McNiel. Organized with the support of Storm Products, the seminars provided insights into ball motion, mental strategies, and equipment mapping, offering players valuable tools to improve their performance.

The Storm 3rd No Urethane Open once again delivered a full week of competitive bowling, learning opportunities, and international participation, strengthening its position as one of Europe’s notable bowling events.
