Morra and Flynn Win Titles at Italy Senior Open 2025 in Rome

The Italy Senior Open 2025 has officially wrapped up at Mondial Bowling in Rome, with Alessandra Morra of Italy and Steven Flynn of JK claiming the top titles in the Women’s and Men’s events.
Morra Triumphs on Home Soil
Italy’s Alessandra Morra, who qualified seventh, rose steadily through the rounds. After a dominant performance in the Round Robin, she secured the top position heading into the semifinals. There, Morra defeated Belgium’s Liliane Vintens with an impressive 266–192 win.
In the final match, Morra came out striking early and never let up, claiming a convincing 216–169 victory over Belgium’s Vanessa Vissenberg, who had earlier defeated Linda Van Kerckhove 215–157 in the other semifinal. Morra’s win earned her €900 and thr ISBT Tour title.
Flynn Strikes to the Title
In the Men’s division, Steven Flynn finished second in qualification, earning a direct spot in Final Step 3. While he only won two matches in his Round Robin group, his high-scoring games (280, 258, 169, 202, 223) were enough to secure second place and a spot in the semifinal.
There, Flynn faced Italy’s C. Zucconi in a tightly contested match, coming out on top 259–238. In the final, Flynn exploded with seven strikes to open the game, setting a pace Italy’s C. Ajola couldn’t match. Flynn sealed the win 268–219 and claimed the €1,850 first-place prize.
A Demanding Oil Pattern
This year’s 42-foot oil pattern proved both challenging and fair, featuring a total oil volume of 26.8 ml and a 1:7.06 ratio. It created an environment where smart adjustments and solid execution were crucial — a true test of experience and consistency that rewarded shotmakers who stayed sharp throughout.
