In its meeting on Thursday, the board of the Finnish Bowling Federation held a lengthy discussion regarding Finland's participation in the World Championships in October.
In the summit, the board of the Finnish Bowling Federation decided to postpone the settlement. This decision was motivated by registration deadlines (the deadline for the World Championship registration subbmitions is the end of June) and the upcoming European Men Championship (EMC).
From June 7 to June 18, the EMC will be held in France, and the top 12 nations will earn a spot to participate in the World Championships.
The board of the Finnish Bowling Federation will hold an extraordinary meeting on June 22, to decide whether or not to participate. Finnish Bowling Federation has already met with the authorities of the Olympic Committee, while Finland's Ministry of Education and Culture will attend the second scheduled meeting in June.
The decision was made due to insufficient and uncertain information about the championship format provided by the IBF and little faith in the IBF arrangement abilities, as it had major flaws both before and during the previous World Championships.
