Ļevikins and Ponomarenko Crowned 2025 Latvian Bowling Champions

The Latvian Bowling Championships 2025 came to a close on Saturday, May 18, after a full week of competition at Pepsi Bowling Center in Riga. This year marked the 28th edition of the national championships, which brought together many of Latvia’s top bowlers across multiple categories.
In the men’s division, Artūrs Ļevikins delivered a dominant performance to claim his sixth Latvian title. He defeated 2023 champion Pēteris Cimdiņš in the final match, winning 2–0 with scores of 205–193 and 227–177. Ļevikins had previously won the national title in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2015, and 2016.
The third-place finishers were qualifying leader Rihards Kovaļenko and 2021 champion Artēmijs Hudjakovs.
The women’s division saw a new name rise to the top. Liāna Ponomarenko captured her first national title with a 2–0 victory over 2023 champion Viktorija Armoloviča, posting games of 198–192 and 200–182. Third place went to Jeļena Dolgova and Svetlana Jemeļjanova, who earned her third career bronze medal at the Latvian Championships.
In other categories, Ivars Vinters won the B Group title. Among the seniors, Edmunds Jansons took the top spot, while Arvīds Ermans claimed victory in the junior division.
As national champions, Ļevikins and Ponomarenko have earned the right to represent Latvia at the 2025 European Championship of Champions, which will be held in Vienna, Austria from October 20 to 26.
