Between June 10 and 12, the best athletes in Bulgaria over 50 (Seniors) and under 20 (Boys and Girls) competed in the National Championship finals.
Todor Lichev held the top spot in the Seniors event after eight games of qualifying with a score of 1643 points (205.4 avg.). Even after the Round Robin, where he won 6 out of 7 of his match-plays, he maintained his position.
Todor Lichev competed against Atanas Atanasov in the championship match. Atanasov persevered after the score was tied and won his first Republican Championship with a final score of 253-211.
This year, three juniors competed in the Girls event for the trophy. After qualifying, Sofia Stoyanova held the top spot. She reached 1387 points overall (173.4 avg.).
Yana Dineva, a teammate of Stoyanova, was her opponent in the championship match. Stoyanova won the first game 192-133 before taking the second game 185-170 to win the Republican trophy.
Arseniy Podlispki qualified first in the Boys event with a total of 1434 points (179.3 avg.) and stood against Luben Levicharov, the winner from the previous year, for the title. Levicharov scored 267 points in the first championship game, winning the tense second game 202-187.
