After four days of intense competition on five distinct oil patterns, the 2025 Team Canada Trials crowned its champions: Graham Fach of Ontario and Mei Yen-Lachapelle of Quebec.
Women's Competition: Mei Yen-Lachapelle
Junior bowler Mei Yen-Lachapelle finished fourth in the qualification round after 24 games, amassing a total score of 4,915. In the Top 12 round, she climbed one position to secure her place in the stepladder finals. In a high-scoring semifinal, Mei delivered a perfect 300 game to edge out Miranda Panas, who scored an impressive 288. In the two-game finals, Mei defeated Felicia Wong with a commanding 483-414 victory to claim the championship.
Men's Competition: Graham Fach
Graham Fach dominated the qualification round, scoring a total of 5,692 across 24 games to comfortably secure the top position. However, his performance wavered in the Top 12 round, causing him to slip to third place after six additional games. Fortunately, this was enough to advance him to the semifinals. Fach faced Zachary Wilkins in an intense battle, emerging victorious with a narrow 258-247 win. In the stepladder finals, Fach went head-to-head with Mitch Hupe, ultimately defeating him in a two-game showdown, 464-413, to clinch the title.
