The women’s semifinals of the 2025 Swedish Elitserien Playoffs got underway in Nyköping, and both matches delivered competitive drama. Regular season winners Team X-Calibur BK and defending champions Spader Dam each claimed their first victories in the best-of-three format, moving one step closer to the championship final.

In the first semifinal, Team X-Calibur BK took down No. 3 seed AIK BK D with a final score of 13–7. As the regular season leaders, X-Calibur had the right to choose their semifinal opponent and selected AIK, who were making their first playoff appearance in decades. The match started in X-Calibur’s favor with a solid 4–1 win in the opening series, but AIK responded strongly by winning both the second and third series 3–2. With the score tight and tension rising, X-Calibur showed their composure in the final series, sweeping all five points to secure the win. Josefin Hermansson was outstanding for the victors, rolling a 972 series across four games, while Victoria Johansson followed closely with 933. Ani Juntunen led AIK BK D with an 861 total.

The second semifinal between Spader Dam and BK Högland was just as tight. Spader Dam, missing their regular season MVP Nora Johansson, who is currently competing at the 2025 USBC Queens in the United States, still managed to deliver a disciplined performance. They started strong, winning the first two series 3–1 and 3–2 to build an early lead. Högland fought back after the break, taking the third series 3–2 and pushing the match down to the final series. The last series ended in a 2–2 draw, which was enough for Spader Dam to hold on and take the win 10–8. Filippa Persson led the team with an 886 series, and four of Spader Dam’s players scored over 800.

The second matches of the women’s semifinals will take place tomorrow at 12:20 PM local time. If a third and deciding game is needed in either match, it will be played later in the day—at either 3:40 PM or 5:00 PM—depending on the men’s semifinal schedule.

On the men’s side, the first games of the semifinals brought big surprises earlier today, as regular season champions Team Clan Nässjö BK and defending champions Team Pergamon both suffered losses. Alingsås and BK Kaskad now lead their respective best-of-three series 1–0, and could clinch spots in the final with another win tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM.
