At the Hijinx Entertainment Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the PBA, PBA50, and PWBA tours joined forces for the 2024 Jonesboro Trios Bowling Tournament, where François Lavoie, Tom Hess, and Breanna Clemmer emerged as champions, crowning them as the inaugural champions of the tournament.
The tournament featured two five-game qualifying rounds on the 40-foot Monacelli oil pattern, with trios teams formed based on qualifying positions. Lavoie, Hess, and Clemmer, all fourth in their divisions, united to form a formidable team.
The trio, entering the championship round as the No. 4 seed, demonstrated exceptional teamwork and skill. They climbed the stepladder to victory, culminating in a decisive 224-181 win against No. 1 seed Justin Knowles, Parker Bohn III, and Alexis Runk in the final match.
Lavoie, handling the first, fourth, seventh, and tenth frames in the baker trios format, secured his sixth career PBA Tour title and his second in Jonesboro. Hess, taking charge of the third, sixth, and ninth frames, added his ninth PBA50 Tour title and his fourth of the season. This title tied him with John Janawicz for the most titles on the senior tour in 2024. Clemmer, bowling the second, fifth, and eighth frames, celebrated her second PWBA Tour title.
In the championship round, they delivered consistent high scores, defeating their opponents in three consecutive matches to secure the title:
Match 1: Defeated Brian Robinson, Dan Knowlton, and Danielle McEwan, 237-193
Match 2: Overcame Brad Miller, Mika Koivuniemi, and Crystal Elliott, 233-187
Match 3: Edged out Sean Rash, Jon Rakoski, and Bryanna Coté, 232-228
Their remarkable performance earned them the top prize of $30,000.
