Day 2 of the prestigious BowlingGP France Senior 2024 saw fierce competition as three exciting qualification squads took place at Bowling Plaza Rouen Grand-Quevilly on Thursday.
Squad 5 Highlights
France’s Frederic Goron delivered a stellar performance, claiming victory with an impressive 1511 total, taking the overall lead in the tournament standings. In the Women’s division, Pépita Jacques shined with a score of 1336, while Germany’s Frank Öing recorded the top Scratch result of the day with 1378. Charles Lanos, showing great form, secured the Best Local Player award with a total of 1319.
Squad 6 Highlights
In Squad 6, Italy’s Giorgio Desimio took the win with a total score of 1417, while Marie-Noëlle Morand led the Women’s division with 1293. Romain Oberweis posted the top Scratch result with 1291, and Thierry Chretien delivered a standout performance, rolling a 246 to claim the Top Scratch Game award. Johann Lacroix earned the Best Local Player honors with a score of 1061.
Squad 7 Highlights
Great Britain’s George Patel emerged victorious in Squad 7, posting a total score of 1040. Among the Women, Liliane Vintens was outstanding with 1309, and J.M. Lebon recorded the best Scratch result in the Men’s division with 1347. Veronique Perniaux also secured a win in the Women’s Scratch division. Charles Lanos once again impressed, taking the Best Local Player award in Squad 7 with a score of 1237.
The competition continues to heat up with three more qualification squads scheduled for tomorrow, starting at 10 AM local time.
With over 140 senior bowlers aged 50 and above competing in this International Senior Bowling Tour (ISBT) event, officially recognized by both the European Bowling Federation (EBF) and the International Bowling Federation (IBF), the stakes are high. The €33,000 prize pool, including €3,000 each for the top men’s and women’s champions, ensures this tournament is a highlight of the 2024 bowling calendar.
