Day 2 of qualifying at the 2025 USBC Queens brought more high scores at Suncoast Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Maranda Pattison of California climbed to the top of the standings, while Malaysia’s Natasha Roslan posted the highest five-game block of the day to jump from outside the cut into the top five.
Pattison added 1,166 in Friday’s A Squad to her 1,195 from Thursday, giving her a total of 2,361 to take over the lead. Defending champion Jillian Martin sits in second with 2,338, followed closely by New Hui Fen of Singapore with 2,336. California's Missy Parkin (2,305) and Malaysia's Natasha Roslan (2,296) complete the top five.
Also inside the top ten are Latvia's Diana Zavjalova (2,283), Oklahoma's Ashley Rucker (2,279), Canada's Jade Côté (2,275), Malaysia's Gillian Lim (2,272), and California's Stephanie Zavala (2,263).
Roslan made a huge move after averaging nearly 250 in B Squad. Her block of 1,249 included games of 289, 253, 227, 279, and 201. She continues to build momentum after a strong showing at last week’s PWBA Go Bowling Topeka Open, where she finished seventh after advancing through the PTQ.
The final qualifying round will take place Saturday. A Squad begins at noon Eastern, followed by B Squad at 4 p.m. Eastern. Both squads will bowl on fresh oil. After that, the top 63 bowlers plus defending champion Jillian Martin will move into Sunday’s double-elimination match play.
Every match in the match-play will be decided by three-game total pinfall. The last two players standing in the Winner’s Bracket will battle for the top seed in the finals. Meanwhile, the remaining players in the Elimination Bracket will compete for the other three stepladder spots.
The tournament will wrap up on Tuesday night with the stepladder finals, airing live on CBS Sports Network at 7 p.m. Eastern. The winner will take home the title, the tiara, and the $60,000 top prize. Until then, all rounds leading up to the finals will be streamed live on BowlTV.
